Between 2 June- 18 June 2018, Kevin Cave sets off on a 15-day charity cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats.  Kevin, a keen cycling enthusiast and veteran Royal Navy submariner, will endure long cycling days of up to 82 miles per day. A real challenge of endurance.

With plenty training and support from his friends and family, Kevin will cover approximately 1000 miles and hopes to raise £2,000 for the Chris Mitchell Foundation.

Chris Mitchell was a professional footballer from Stirling, who sadly took his own life at the age of 27.  Chris had a successful career spanning 10 years, playing across all Scottish divisions and representing his country at all underage groups, including seven appearances at Scotland Under-21 level.  Chris also had a short spell playing in England.  The foundation set up in his memory, aims to raise awareness around mental health and wellbeing for players, ex-players and staff working in Scottish professional football. All proceeds raised will be used to deliver free NHS Scotland accredited Mental Health First Aid training courses, as well as other related initiatives.

Kevin’s route takes him from Land’s End, along the north Cornish coast, across Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor and up through Cheddar Gorge. After crossing the River Severn, he continues north to Herefordshire and Shropshire and skirts around Manchester. Kevin then heads on to the Yorkshire Dales and Eden Valley in Cumbria. Crossing into Scotland Kevin cycles through the Southern Uplands to Glasgow, before entering northern Scotland, passing by Ben Nevis and the shores of Loch Ness to John O’Groats.
