We partnered up with the SPFL Trust and Cell Events to host a Charity Golf Day on Wednesday 24 May 2017 at Archerfield Links Golf Club. The support of Mark Stewart, Iain Russell, Scott Arfield, Jamie Murphy, Lewis Stevenson and Tam McManus and various businesses including CA Models, KSL, Collinsons Ceramics, Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club and Ratho park Golf Club ensured the day was a great success. The Chris Mitchell Foundation, in partnership with Mark Fleming, Director at Positive Mental Health Scotland, is offering football clubs the opportunity to take positive steps towards safeguarding the mental health and wellbeing of their players and staff, by offering a limited number of fully funded places for club representatives from the SPFL, Highland and Lowland Football League, Women’s Premier League and Youth Academies, to attend the NHS Scotland Mental Health First Aid Court. Working in collaboration with PFA and PFA Scotland, the foundation hope to establish an umbrella scholarship programme, offering funded places on a range of recognised accredited courses (e.g. IT, interview techniques, CV writing etc.) to help equip players with the necessary skills, to aid their transition to positive destinations following the end of their careers within the football industry.
