£3,000 raised!! Well done to the 50 in 50 Challenge Team for putting on such a brilliant Race Night on Saturday 2 June 2018 and raising a phenomenal sum of money. Everyone had a fantastic time and both the Chris Mitchell Foundation and SAMH will benefit hugely from these funds. A special thanks to Dougie Dewar and Leanne Sweeney for all your hard work in organising such a brilliant event and securing an excellent variety of raffle and auction prizes. Thank you very much!
£560 raised!! On Sunday 3 June 2018, Steveie Parker took on the Alloa Half Marathon. Stevie explains below his reasons for running and wanting to support the Chris Mitchell Foundation: ‘Without knowing Chris personally, but as a Queen of the South (QofS) fan, I admired Chris and his effort and style of play during his time there and all of my fellow New Bazaar Doonhamer supporters club friends share my thoughts. You’ll have seen them wearing their Derek Lyle masks at the Brechin City FC match at the end of the season to raise funds for the foundation and I’ve already marked their cards to get their wallets ready for next season!’‘I also feel connected to Chris through his other team due to my two sons being die hard Falkirk FC fans where I also did some volunteer coaching when my older son played for one of their community teams klicka här nu.’ ‘So, if supporting QofS wasn’t enough of an ordeal, I’ve taken up endurance running too! It’s one of the best de-stressing methods I’ve found and helps me really clear my head and sort through any troubling issues of the day.’ Stevie completed the Alloa half marathon, in sweltering temperatures and in an impressive time of in 2hrs and 5mins. He even managed to bag himself a bunch of flowers for his efforts and celebrated with a well earned cold pint. Thank you very much Stevie!
